1st Vice-President’. Elected by Lodge members. Assists the Exalted Ruler in the performance of his/her duties. Will officiate in the absence of the ER.
The Leading Knight is tasked with assisting the Exalted Ruler, which is their primary responsibility. They are expected to support the Exalted Ruler's programs and maintain a cooperative attitude. In the event that the Exalted Ruler is absent and no Past Exalted Ruler (PER) has been designated, the Leading Knight will preside in accordance with the rank order. It is also essential for the Leading Knight to attend all DDGER Clinics unless there is a valid excuse. Furthermore, they should participate in District and State Association meetings, including conferences and conventions, ensuring they remain as informed as the Exalted Ruler.
